Suez Crisis
The nationalisation of Suez canal in 1956 is referred as Suez Crisis. The parties that involved directly were: Egypt, Britain, France, and rather surprisingly, Israel. The 3 latter countries conspired against Egypt in their attempt to get back Suez canal. Ironically, it was Britain's and France's best ally, the US, that stop their attempt.

Some important things which are related to or the result of this crisis were:
- It's the mark of the humiliating end of imperial influence for two European countries, Britain and France. As Margaret Thatcher put it in her words, Britain's rulers "went from believing Britain could do anything to an almost neurotic belief that Britain could do nothing".
- EU was about to be born. The french foreign minister said that, "France and England will never be powers comparable to the United States... Not Germany either. There remains to them the only way of playing a decisive role in the world: that is to unite Europe... We have no time to waste; Europe will be your revenge".
- It's the last time US "scolded" Israel.
- America's supremacy was about to begin.
- United Nations gained good publicity when it sent its first blue-helmet troops for an international peace mission.
- US allows India an access to nuclear technology?
- North Korea tested its missile capability?
- China - Taiwan relationship can't no longer sustain pressure?
- Japan starts to develop its armed forces again?
